Two residents of Blue Triangle

Partners' social service team meets with residents from the beginning--during the application process.

The familes and individuals who qualify for our housing often live with one or more of the following: mental illness, substance abuse issues, HIV/AIDS, physical or developmental disability, are the frail elderly, or are victims of domestic abuse. Partners' social service team meets with residents from the beginning--during the application process. They work with residents to address housing, healthcare, daily living skills, and financial and social needs.

Because each resident has his or her own unique needs, Partners In Housing is linked with a network of established service providers. These providers work side-by-side with residents, basing treatment on psychosocial rehabilitation. This method of goal-setting and solution-focused therapy aims to restore an individual to an optimal level of independent functioning in the community.

Community Life

Homelessness is lonely and our residents have to overcome a previous life of isolation. The Community Life Program provides residents with social, recreational, and educational outlets to help build relationships with their neighbors. The following are examples of the Community Life Program Activities:

  • Independent living skills group
  • Art classes
  • Women's support group
  • Money management seminars
  • Movie nights
  • Reading classes
  • Karaoke and game nights
  • Cookouts
  • Resident leadership opportunities
