Originally built in 1924 as the first YWCA dormitory in Indianapolis, the building was abandoned in 1971 and remained vacant for 27 years. Partners rehabilitated it using low-income housing and historic preservation tax credits. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, among its many distinctions.
