Partners In Housing Is Going Green!
Partners In Housing is going green! Our Green Plan will help make all of our properties energy efficient and will reduce utility and heating costs for our residents year-round. Through a partnership with Indianapolis Power and Light, Partners in Housing has been able to upgrade faucets and shower heads, replace light bulbs, inspect and repair water heaters, clean furnaces and duct work, and install insulation in the floors and ceilings of several Partners properties.
The Indiana Community Action Agency, a non-profit contractor, has been working with IPL’s energy efficiency initiative for more than 10 years. INCAA teams came out to Burton Apartments, Guerin Apartments, and Gladstone Apartments in October and November of last year – just in time to add new insulation before winter hit Indianapolis!

The new insulation in Burton and Guerin will keep stop heat from escaping, making the entire building more energy efficient. We have already seen savings on our winter heating bills!
“Partners In Housing is making fast progress on our Green Plan goals -- we look forward to expanding our energy efficiency projects throughout 2010.”
Susan Calhoun, Chief Operating Officer
Indianapolis Power and Light contributed $30,000 of assistance to support the Partners In Housing Green Plan. We are dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality of energy usage throughout our properties. We’re just getting started!
