Partners Purchases New Property - The Orleans Apartments
Partners In Housing just keeps on growing!
On December 30, 2009, Partners In Housing officially added The Orleans Apartments to its portfolio – that brings our total portfolio to 11 properties and 587 units of affordable supportive housing. The Orleans Apartments are located on the far eastside of Indianapolis, just next door the Ransburg YMCA on Shortridge Road. The campus consists of 11 buildings and 121 individual units. Each unit at The Orleans has two bedrooms, making the perfect first step in achieving our goal to expand the scope of Partners services to more families and children.
In 2008, the Lilly Endowment contributed $1.6 million and the United Way of Indiana contributed $827,000 to support a Sustainable Service Model. This model allows Partners to focuson the reunification and wellness of families in need of affordable and subsidized housing. Our proximity to the YMCA has also motivated a natural partnership – our residents will greatly benefit from convenient access to the health, wellness, recreational, and community services available through the YMCA.

Partners In Housing plans moderate rehabilitation of the buildings’ interiors and exteriors. In addition to upgrade and addressing repair needs for residents, we hope to improve the reputation of The Orleans Apartments among our new neighbors on the far eastside. And, of course, Partners In Housing brings its dedicated property management and maintenance staff to The Orleans, which has already improved the daily operations of the facilities. Residents of The Orleans can expect the same quality property management and maintenance provided at all Partners locations.
Partners In Housing is excited about the addition of The Orleans and looks forward to focusing on the families that will soon occupy the apartments.
