Indianapolis Power and Light Helps Partners Go Green!
Indianapolis Power and Light is helping Partners In Housing 'go green' to help our properties become environmentally friendly and to help our residents save money on utilities.
Dropping temperatures signal increasingly high heating costs for many residents. IPL, through their weatherization program, has conducted energy audits on two of Partners' properties - Guerin Place and Gladstone Apartments. Partners is in the process of installing low-flow showerheads and faucets in all 10 properties, a measure which will lead to greater efficiency and lower bills for all our residents.
Our efforts were recently featured on the WISH-TV Channel 8 news!

Creating safe, affordable housing for special needs populations
A Resident of Colonial Park
40% of the homeless are families with children
Partners In Housing starts by creating rental units for low-income and special needs populations in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The housing we make available becomes a home for our residents, and we network with social service providers to give them tools with which to improve their lives and leave homelessness behind for good.
This unique housing model is called permanent supportive housing. By readapting or reusing old, run-down buildings, we can remove abandoned blights from a depressed neighborhood and offer apartments to those who can’t afford market rates.
Where Our Residents Come From
Partners is dedicated to playing a role in the implementation of the Blueprint to End Homelessness, which calls for 1,700 additional units of supportive housing over the next few years for Indianapolis. Successfully completing the goals of the Blueprint will require commitment from the entire community: political leaders, funding agencies, social service organizations, housing developers and the community at-large.
